Default Not all new skills are new skills

Hi all,

in the FPE I've been reading through the new skills for the excisting classes. There are quite some skills which do the same thing but simply have another name. For instance:

Desperation Blow = Drunken Blow
Earthquake = Dragons something (forgot the word)

There were many skills which do exactly the same as their chapter 1 counterparts.

This could result in some builds being inbalanced in both pvp and pve. A sword-warrior for instance, can make a very high direct-damage build now. Galrath Slash has also been copied in Factions (silverwing slash if I remember correctly) No more worries if your foes are fleshy creatures or not. Not to mention the new elites for swordmanship.

When attacking an enemy which has Base Armor of 60, using all your adrenaline based skills in a row, you can easily do over 600 damage (if all your attacks hit)

I've only tested sword skills, but I'm sure there are more builds other than that, which will inflict an enormous ammount of damage on a foe in a very short time.

Any opinions about this?

edit: there are already high-damage output builds, what I'm trying to say is that the new builds do even greater damage than the excisting ones.

I think its good. Adds more variety/tactical decisions.

But if your that worried, at least be happy it wasn't something like Fear Me

How the recharge time of Vamp touch/bite is 2.....

The only uses I see for double skills is the 2 sword doubles and the Arcane Theifery double.

Guardian, it's still overpowered imo...unless you have skilllocks, i'm pretty much invincible...

either I have an endless stream (OoB) of 60 something heals every second ( and 60 dmg every second ), or I bring escape so you can't really hit me.

If you want a constant stream of damage in prophecies , you had to use touch of agony, wich offcourse cancels the healing of your vamp touch

Kiting is the ultimate anti-toucher action, with a movement debuff if necessary (Using skills, rather than attacks, increase the versatility; Dodge+Zojun's Haste are marginally more appealing.). Cripple is only easy to pass off if you've got people who aren't paying attention close to you. Elsewise, you can't get in range to use Plauge Touch.
While it carves through defence like they're wearing paper armor, that is by no means unique to any specific build. It has healing and damage all in one, and that's most valuable arena-side, rather than elsewhere.

In short, overpowered, and fairly good and easy in a given situation are 2 different things.

And I'd actually close this if I moderated arcane repository, there're a LOT of threads on the duplicate skills, and a petition to change them as well.
